OBC was officially started February 2021 when three partially-vaccinated volunteer firefighters braved the pandemic to endeavor to produce drinkable and approachable all-grain craft beer. The brewery is currently growing - perfecting its craft in order to grow. The long-term goal of OBC is to obtain a brick and mortar brewery where everyone is welcome to enjoy the brews of our labor.
Starting in October 2021, you can find us in person!!!
Because of a special individual at GlenOaks Country Club, OBC is getting its shot. Starting in mid-July 2021, renovations will begin within the clubhouse of GlenOaks Country Club located at 10601 Worthington Lane in Prospect, KY. We will have our own commercial space to brew. This is a tremendous opportunity for OBC, and we could not be happier to have such a great partner in GlenOaks to start our journey.
What this means for you: the public will finally be able to try and purchase the beers that we have been working hard to bring to a larger market (larger than Jon, Steve and Brad). It is not often that we say this, but we cannot wait for winter 2021.
1. 4 Horsepeople of the Hopocalypse - 6.8% ABV
Despite it's aggressive name, this beer is a perfect introductory IPA for the uninitiated. Four different hops blend beautifully and couple with a carmally (if that's a word) sweet finish to keep taste buds coming back for more.
2. Fake-Belgian Blonde - 6.8% ABV
This is OBC's attempt at a classic Belgian Blonde Ale. If you have tried, a few Belgian Blondes you will likely say this one fits the style. If you have never tried a Belgian Blonde Ale - you won't believe what you have been missing!
3. Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Stout - 6.0% ABV
This is what happens when a sometimes hard-to-approach style gets put through the OBC ringer. What came out was a sweet and sultry blending of vanilla, chocolate and oatmeal. Even if you have had a stout before and "didn't like it" we don't think you will be disappointed if you give this one a try.
4. Kolsh with a "KO" - 6.6% ABV
We might be playing with the science of it here a bit, but we used a sweet and tasty grain base with a Kolsh yeast strain and modest hop profile to impart a fruit-forward flavor that lingers on the palate.
5. Citrus Wheat - 5.6% ABV
Nothing says thirst-quenching like the flavors of fresh citrus blended into a wheat base that provides a counter-balance to the sours of citrus. This is a great introductory beer for those of you out there that find mass-market ... well shall we say... a bit pedestrian.
Sweet Heat Wheat
Baked Sweet Potato Brown
Hazelnut Coffee Stout
Big Hitter IPA
At OBC, we understand that resources are finite and at times fleeting. We are looking to support our community by offering the grain by-products of the beer brewing process to local farmers to feed their livestock. Though it is a small gesture - we at OBC understand that every bit counts. If you or someone you know might be interested, please drop us a line below.
